Wachusett Brewing Company is a microbrewery and craft brewery in Westminster, Massachusetts established in 1994. It was founded by Ned LaFortune, Peter Quinn, and Kevin Buckler, who met while attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute and developed a significant appreciation for craft beer.
“Quinny” was named in honor of founding brewer Peter Quinn. "Quinny" Leprechaun first appeard on beer labels and packaging around 1995.
The original “Quinny” Leprechaun was a pen & ink illustration I drew after meeting with the owners, and sketching from some photographs of Pete. More recently, I recreated the illustration as vector artwork so that Quinny can be used in a variety of applications. The digital illustration of Quinny was created in Illustrator using my original pen & ink as reference. The animated GIF at the top of this page was first created in After Effects, then optimized and exported out of Photoshop.
